Run For The Wall
A cross-country ride from California to Washington, D.C. in the weeks before Memorial Day. The Southern Route brings the riders through East Texas and into Longview.
Run For The Wall makes its way to the nation's capital for Memorial Day observances. As the Southern Route passes through East Texas, the riders stop in Longview to refuel and have lunch. We encourage the community to safely gather along the route, on overpasses, and in other appropriate spots to show support as the riders pass through.
Bring flags, signs, and your appreciation. A strong showing along the route makes a lasting impact on the riders. After refueling, riders arrive at the Gregg County Fairgrounds for a private lunch and a brief presentation. A great chance to gather, meet the riders, and be part of the mission.
The Route Through East Texas
Run For The Wall travels primarily along Interstate 20, holding a steady eastbound route. Approaching Longview, riders exit I-20 onto Highway 31 and head into town for their stop. They'll refuel, continue to the Gregg County Fairgrounds for lunch and a presentation, then retrace the same route. Back to Highway 31 and onto I-20 to continue east.
Gather along the route and on overpasses to show support. For safety, choose overpasses without exits or with lighter traffic. Please don't block traffic, ramps, or shoulders. Stay well clear of the roadway and park only in safe, legal areas. Keep flags and signs secure and out of traffic.
